What will you study?
In Year 12 you will explore ways of working, materials and methods. You will gain skill and confidence in drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media and other ways of working. You will refer to the work of others and build your experience and confidence in managing self-directed work. Your Personal Investigation (Component 1) will begin in the spring terms, where you will be able to deepen your work in a personal and exploratory way to include a written element. Your work will reference and analyse the work of others to enable you to inform and develop your own practise. This will extend into Year 13. An externally set assignment (Component 2) is set in February of Y13 and will lead to a 15 hour controlled test.
YOU WILL DEVELOP YOUR OBSERVATIONAL DRAWING SKILLS AND HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE PAINTING, PRINTMAKING,
BATIK AND PHOTOGRAPHY TOGETHER WITH CONTEXTUAL STUDIES IN ORDER TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF ART HISTORY AS IT RELATES TO YOUR PRACTICAL WORK. IN YEAR 13 YOU WILL WRITE A VISUAL PERSONAL INVESTIGATION (1,000-3,000 WORDS) ON A TOPIC RELATED TO ART.
